Do's and Don'ts
Do
- Use a recent photo (within last 6 months)
- Face the camera directly with neutral expression
- Keep both eyes open and clearly visible
- Ensure uniform lighting with no shadows
- Use plain background (white or light grey)
- Wear normal clothing (no uniforms unless daily wear)
- Remove glasses (most countries require this now)
- Keep hair away from face and forehead
Don't
- Smile, frown, or raise eyebrows
- Tilt or turn your head
- Wear hats or head coverings (except religious)
- Use filters or digitally alter the photo
- Submit blurry or pixelated images
- Have red-eye or glare in the photo
- Submit photos with other people visible
- Use selfies with visible hand or arm
